It is hard to make financial planning exciting. When Patersons Wealth Management came to us we knew that we had to put our team to work and find a way to excite and engage its audience.

Their original website did not do the brand justice. It represented the ‘old’ Patersons, not the new. The old Patersons was perceived as a Stock Broking Firm which is only one of many services offered by Patersons and we needed to find a way to rebrand the new site in a way that represented all services appropriately.

Ultimately the end goal for the new Patersons site was to have a clear and re-branded site that would not confuse the user or leave them feeling overwhelmed with content heavy pages or bored.

The Challenge

It was time for our team to come together and find a way to showcase all the services offered by Patersons and brand them in a way that positioned them as a trusted Wealth Management Firm. We knew that the Information Architecture of was going to be a challenge. With all aspects of the design and build phases we had the end user in mind to ensure that no matter where they were on the site or what they were looking at, it all made sense.

To do this we had to find the right balance between content and design. If we didn’t pay enough attention to the design the site would be extremely content heavy with poor user experience. Whereas on the reverse, if the site had too much attention spent on the design the user would be less interested in the content.

At the same time as finding the right balance between the content and the design our team of course needed to make sure that Patersons was happy with the direction we were taking with the re-branding of their company and after three workshops of design and build refinements we were on our way!

The Solution

To encapsulate all aspects and services offered by Patersons Wealth Management we kept the user experience at the forefront of our minds. We needed to make sure that the user journey and also the content that they are looking at always made sense and was of course easily accessible.

Firstly we built a variety of different page templates and modules for the site that create a smooth and engaging user experience then, built three new engaging and informative, custom widgets to house the content within the site. As we populated the site we made sure to keep the layouts clean and consistent so the user would not feel like they are looking at text heavy pages or that they were lost. We also introduced a lot of engaging hover effects throughout the site that clearly outline what you’re looking at and where you are going to go when you use your mouse.

The Results

What resulted from this project is an amazing new site and fresh look for the Patersons Wealth Management brand.

Their new site is amazing, we are proud of how seamless the user journey and experience is and how the widgets we created house the content within the site in such an engaging and fresh way that the old Patersons is now just a distant memory.

Like we mentioned above we knew that it would be a challenge making Financial Planning and Wealth Management exciting but with an exciting re-brand and the introduction of unique content widgets and a great content we were able to launch the new Patersons Wealth Management site with great praise and feedback from their team and clients.
