About Team Electrical Services
Team Electrical Services (TEAM) is a family-owned electrical construction company based in WA. They approached us because they wanted to modernise their website and provide a more functional and engaging online experience for their website users.
The challenge
The company’s previous website was “very 2000s” and lacked functionality. It had been built on a now obsolete content management system (CMS), making the backend very difficult to manage.
TEAM wanted a new website that would showcase their achievements and appeal to new clients and employees alike. They wanted it to be modern, interactive, and filled with exciting imagery that would encourage job seekers to apply. They also wanted it to be mobile-responsive so its functionality would align with how users interact with the website.
In short, they wanted their new website to have a “wow” factor that would set TEAM apart from their competitors, without the price tag of a more complex site.
However, they were concerned that they didn’t have a dedicated copywriter on staff and would struggle to write the 15-pages-worth of new content themselves. They were also unsure whether they would be able to manage the website, given their negative experience with the previous CMS. In particular, they had a lot of great case study content and imagery, but were concerned that they wouldn’t be able to present it effectively.
The solution
Because of the client’s budget, their appetite for a user-friendly CMS, and the relatively small size of their site, we suggested a WordPress CMS. We then researched suitable WordPress themes and widgets and presented a shortlist for TEAM to review. After making their selection, we began designing and developing the website.
Next, we worked with TEAM to develop their written content. After meeting with them and learning more about the kind of content they wanted on their website, our copywriter prepared written content for five pages. TEAM reviewed these pages and used them as a template to write the remaining ten pages. Once they’d finished their copy, we reviewed it to make sure it aligned with website content best practices. This made the content writing process more digestible and less intimidating for the client.
We then populated the content, but we also trained TEAM staff so they would be able to undertake any future population themselves. WordPress is a much easier platform to use than the client’s previous CMS, so their team is now fully equipped to update the content on their website as needed.
Finally, we provided a basic SEO setup for the website with GA4 tracking included. This will empower TEAM to track their visibility across Google search results and make strategic SEO optimisations to boost website traffic.
