State of Social 2025 Highlights

ALYKA team attend State of Social 2025 at Optus Stadium

The ALYKA team recently joined some of the sharpest marketing minds from across Australia and beyond at the 2025 State of Social conference. We loved being amongst the Perth marketing community to deep-dive into the ever-changing digital world. Fueled by endless coffee and treats, the two days at Optus Stadium were filled with ideas, insights, and inspiration.

Introducing Metaphor Muesli: The Breakfast of Brand Champions

Hannah Muirhead and Dean Hunt

In the age of ever-evolving AI technology, this keynote served as a timely reminder to maintain a long-term vision (instead of getting stuck in the short-term).  As Hannah and Dean explained, 5% of the market are ready to buy right now but 95% are not. Sustainable brand building is the key to connecting with that 95%.

Building Bluey: The Lessons I Learned in How to Build and Scale a Brand

Kate O’Connor

Partially due to our obvious love for the show, this keynote was an ALYKA team favourite. Bluey is a great example of how to build a globally recognisable brand by staying true to your values. Kate also emphasised the importance of knowing your audience, and having a deep understanding of their behaviours and needs - and then using that knowledge to make key business decisions.

Virality is a One-Night Stand. Consistency is Marriage.

Steph Edwards

Steph’s simple message resonated with the ALYKA team: consistency = recognition. The case studies demonstrated the power of simple brand strategies and the strength of repeated visual branding beyond just a logo.

Surviving the Era of Unsocial Media

Eugene Healey

As marketers, we talk a lot about how to “cut through the noise” or increasingly crowded online spaces. Eugene gave us some great pointers about how brands need to enter social media communities, with an intimate understanding of their users to build genuine connections.

Look Brilliant

The Look Brilliant interactive merch stand was a real highlight at State of Social, drawing people in with its creative setup and hands-on experience. It was engaging, fun, and gave attendees a chance to connect with the brand in a memorable way. A perfect mix of interactivity and impact.

Thanks to all the amazing speakers and sponsors, as well as to Meg Coffey and the State of Social team for pulling together such an incredible event yet again! Bring on next year!
