Our favourite new Canva features

As Canva’s first official Agency Partner, it’s safe to say we’re big fans. New waves of features constantly seem to be rolling out, making it easier to design, edit, and publish content all in one place. With so many updates landing, we’ve pulled together a few of our current favourites and why they’re worth exploring.

Design Accessibility Checker

Canva’s new Design Accessibility Checker tool is one of our favourite features. Use the tool to identify accessibility issues in your design, allowing you to easily address them. While this won’t guarantee accessibility compliance, it provides a helpful guide to make your design as inclusive as possible.

The Design Accessibility Checker reviews your design and provides a summary of accessibility issues detected, grouped by category, including typography, colour contrast, and alternative text.

How to use it:

  • In the design that you want to check, select File > Accessibility > Check design accessibility.
  • Use the Design Accessibility window to find suggested fixes.

Email Designs

There has been a lot of excitement about the ability to design export-ready email designs in Canva. You can now create emails using the simple drag-and-drop editor and hundreds of templates. Canva also enables you to distribute your email campaign through a single, easy-to-use workflow. You have the option to export HTML or send directly to Gmail and Mailchimp. Plus, you can preview and test your email straight from Canva.

The new email tool makes it easy to build clean, branded emails fast. You can reuse templates for newsletters, campaigns, and invites, drop in interactive elements like images, GIFs, and buttons, and keep everything short and mobile-friendly. With prebuilt sections such as headers, footers, and call-to-action blocks, you can quickly assemble an email without compromising design.

How to use it:

  • In the Canva home page, click the “Email” button to start your design.
  • Start designing from scratch or search for a template.
  • When you’re finished creating, click “Send a test email” to preview your design.
  • Once it’s ready to go, click “Share” to find different export options.
