About Cockburn ARC

Cockburn ARC is the City of Cockburn's leading-edge recreation and aquatic centre, unlike anything else in Perth. Serving hundreds of thousands of residents across Perth’s southern suburbs, the facility welcomes around 1.4 million visitors each year.

The centre features nine water areas, a six-court indoor stadium, three group fitness studios and a 1,500sqm gym. As a major community asset, Cockburn ARC relied on its website as a primary communication channel for members, casual visitors and the wider community.

The challenge

We built the previous Cockburn ARC website in 2017 on Kentico 10, which reached end of life in recent years. While the client team was comfortable using Kentico CMS, the unsupported platform created a clear need to rebuild the site due to the security risk.

The team at Cockburn ARC needed a future-ready website that met government accessibility standards, allowed the marketing and communications team to manage content independently and efficiently, and supported integrations with the City’s other software including Perfect Gym.

The solution

We rebuilt the Cockburn ARC website on Xperience by Kentico, using its modern content management capabilities to improve efficiency, governance and accessibility.

Reusable content with Content Hub

Key information such as membership CTAs, entry fees and promotional content is managed as reusable Content Hub items. Content is created once and reused across the site, reducing duplication, saving time and improving accuracy.

Clear roles and governance

Kentico’s users and permissions were configured to align with the marketing and communications team’s responsibilities. Editors only access what’s relevant to them, supporting strong governance while keeping the CMS easy to use.

Flexible, self-managed forms

Kentico’s drag-and-drop form builder allows the team to create and update enquiry forms without developer support. Automated notifications and autoresponders streamline enquiry handling and reduce the risk of missed submissions.

Accessibility

Accessibility was embedded from the outset, with CMS controls such as mandatory alt text helping ensure compliance. Reusable content can be checked once and confidently reused, improving consistency and reducing risk.

  • Google Analytics & Google Tag Manager – Tracking traffic, engagement and conversions
  • Microsoft Entra ID Single Sign-On (SSO) – Secure single sign-on for a government environment
